Potential confounding variables including age, gender, education, disease duration, age of illness onset and weight at baseline were entered first (forced entry, Step 1); rs9939609, rs8050136, rs1421085 and rs9930506 genes were considered next (stepwise, Step 2), and rs9939609 gene was the only variable that entered into the regression model.
