Early lateralized target activity: P1: Left panel: ERP-traces time-locked to the target over occipital O1/2-electrodes, the contra-versus-ipsi-lateral P1 amplitudes indicated a significant increase for all valid compared all invalid targets (see upper versus lower part of the figure). In addition, for valid conditions (upper channel), the contra-ipsilateral P1 activity of targets after the double fear combination was significantly increased compared to targets after combinations of both neutral or of neutral-voice with fearful face combination (VN/FF). The comparison of the valid double fear combination with the valid fear-voice/neutral-face combination (VF/FN) only showed an increase by trend, but was not significant.
